  Jealousy is deceitful and hateful from within, A beautiful but poisonous oleander that cannot be believed in, On the exterior, it looks like any other angelic flower, But oleander holds deadly toxins, upon you they have the power. This feeling of resentment can make you feel like you can do anything, Be able to take roots in minds and give painful stings, Of pain and anger to people unknowing, While the real reason for jealousy keeps growing and spreading. Jealousy attracts the weak, the strong, the angels, and the devils, Drawing us to itself like the beautiful flower’s petals, And jealousy’s stem, where Man’s insecurities reside, Sustains that envy through Man’s pride. Bharatnatyam - A Window into the Soul

  The origin of Bharatnatyam can be traced to the sage Bharata Muni’s Natya Shastra and this shloka is the first shloka of the Natya Shastra, the scripture of Indian dance. It means, where the hands are, the eyes follow, where the eyes are, the mind follows, where the mind is, the expression follows, and where the expression is, the essence follows. The word Bharatanatyam” is a mnemonic of three words: “Bha” or “bhava” is emotion, “ra” or “raga” is the musical format, “ta” or “taal” is the rhythm, and “Natya” is dance.     Bharatnatyam is a form of Indian dance that has transformed my life and encouraged me to be a better person. I have been learning Bharatnatyam for six years, and throughout my learning, knowledge was gained, physical and mental strength increased, and respect and responsibility grew. Long before I started my journey of a lifetime, I used to think that life was perfect in every way and that you don’t need to work really hard to make it better or appreciated. I was wrong and over the period of four years, I shed light on life’s true purpose. When I started taekwondo, I realized that life is not always perfect or how you want it to be, but you need constant determination to make your life choices and others’ lives better. Taekwondo helped me achieve the fact that having a positive and strength-filled self, contributes to this monumental goal. “I develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that will reduce my mental growth and physical health.
